Konza's nature trails are open to the public. From the heights of the Flint Hills to the riverbeds of the creeks that carved them out, the visitor can get a first-hand look at the tallgrass prairie. The first loop of the trail offers a self-guided hike, with points of interest marked out in brochures, which are available at the head of the trail.
The trails also take visitors back in time to the Hokanson Homestead, built by Swedish settlers in 1878.
Please note the posted rules as you enter the trail. Animals are not allowed on them. The trails vary in length from 2.8 miles for the Nature Trail to 6.1 miles for the Godwin Loop.

 The Manhattan Community Garden

     Land is provided by the City and supervised by UFM. Over 160 plots are available on an annual basis. A small plot rental fee is charged to cover costs of operating the program. Rent is charged on a sliding fee scale to allow all income groups to participate. Water, mulch, tools, seeds and advice are available.

     Orientation and plot rental occurs each year beginning in February and continues until all plots are rented. A plot rental fee is charged based on income and ranges from 2 1/2 cents to 5 cents per square foot. A $10.00 per plot deposit for cleanup is also required.

Rocky Ford , a river fishery, is located just south of the Tuttle Creek Dam on the Big Blue River. Anglers have the opportunity to harvest fishes generally associated with moving water. Saugeye, white bass, the catfishes, drum, crappie and carp can be harvested. Angler access is affected by release rates from the nearby Tuttle Creek Reservoir.

Pillsbury Crossing's 59 acres are among the most scenic areas of the northern Flint Hills region. During normal stream flow, you may canoe, kayak, or take a small row boat upstream as far as 1/2 mile. There are some areas suitable for primitive camping by special permit only. Although there are no trails marked, you may still enjoy a hike in the areas along either side of the stream also. Fishing is also popular at Pillsbury Crossing, where the fish include channel cat, spotted bass, largemouth bass, bullhead catfish, and carp.

Tuttle Creek Reservoir is the state's second largest man made lake.

The wildlife area comprises 12,200 acres and the lake 12,500. About 20 miles of trails are available, including equestrian, mountain biking, hiking, and nature trails. Some of these are ADA accessible. Fishing in the reservoir-especially for crappie-is good, and there is year-round trout fishing in the River Pond area. The many wildlife areas offer ample opportunity for hunting.

This 252-acre park is located approximately 3 miles N of the dam on the W side of the lake.
